Mells Roofing Ltd is a flat roofing company based in Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea. We provide flat roofing services to Essex, East Anglia and East London. Southend, Chelmsford, Maldon, Rochford, Shoeburyness, Leigh on Sea, Westcliff, Canvey, Braintree, Basildon, Brentwood, Burnham on Crouch, Epping, Ongar, Colchester, Witham and Tiptree. Our accreditation to leading organisations are important to us.

Working with Commercial, Educational, Domestic and Local Authority clients, we offer a wide range of flat roofing systems. Systems also include RBM, single ply, liquid applied, green roofs, fall arrest systems and metal roof tiles.

Insurance

Mells Roofing Limited are fully insured up to 10million pounds in Public and Employers liability, which covers the important aspects relating to roofing works. We also have a Contractors all Risks Insurance. These insurances are over and above the requirements in general roofing but meet all aspects of that which expected by Local and Government Authorities.

BMI Award for Mells Roofing at Ford Motor Company

Mells Roofing were required to generate a solution that prohibited the use of flame or flammable materials. The chosen system was BMI’s Universal POCB single ply membrane, installed as part of a warm roof system. Upon completion of the works, coloured walkways were installed using Firesmart Capsheet in brown providing safe access for future maintenance works.

In an ever moving and changing market we recognise the need for continuous training. Also we have been awarded the Investors in People Award and we work closely with the Construction Industry Training Board. Consequently, this ensures that our management team and workforce is fully trained in all matters of Health and Safety. Mells Roofing support young trainees coming in to the industry and provide opportunities for others to achieve National Vocational Qualifications. We also commit to training which helps us build a competent workforce. We are also fully registered with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). Our Investors in People Award has helped us build a team dedicated to achieving our aim of providing quality roofing. Beginning at 10 years and going right up to 25 years. All the materials we use have very long life expectancy. Essentially, they are intended to last far longer than the guarantees currently available. Additionally, we can advise on the best systems for the job.

DBS (Formally CRB check)

The company show continued commitment to working closely with schools and with vulnerable adults. Mells Roofing Ltd conduct DBS checks (formally CRB checks) on all their employees and sub-contractors where applicable.

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC)

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors is the UK's leading trade association for the roofing industry. The Federation operates a strict Code of Practice. Importantly, this establishes a high standard for the conduct of the work undertaken. This also applies to products and services supplied by member firms.

Essex County Council Buy With Confidence

In response to concerns about 'rogue traders' a partnership of Local Authority Trading Standards Services have taken a ground-breaking step. They have put together the Buy With Confidence Scheme. The scheme provides consumers with a list of local businesses that have, in effect, given their commitment to trading fairly. Every business on the scheme undergo a series of detailed checks and are then approved as a member.

Constructionline

Constructionline is the UK's register. Essentially, this is a list of local and national construction and construction-related contractors and consultants. Therefore this ensures that contractors are pre-qualified to work within the public sector. Contractors and consultants registered with Constructionline have all met strict pre-qualification requirements agreed by the industry.

Competent Roofer

CompetentRoofer is a Government-licenced Competent Person Scheme. Essentially, this allows professional roofing contractors to self-certify that their roof refurbishment work and complies with Building Regulations. Finally, the scheme encompasses all roofing types for domestic, industrial and commercial properties. The scheme is also open to all roofing contractors to apply

Construction Industry Training Board

We are registered with CITB which is dedicated to ensuring the construction workforce has the right skills for now and the future based on our three strategic priorities – Careers, Standards and Qualifications, and Training and Development.
